Print the pages with your printer set to the highest print quality or photo setting.

Print the patterned envelope sheet onto 120gsm paper (paper just a bit heavier than photocopy paper) and all the other sheets onto card.

Single card kit after printing before cutting out

Gently score a line between the two arrows on the greetings card sheet, do this with a small blunt ended item (like an empty ball point pen) so the face is not torn. This will give you a fold line for later. If you prefer, and your card is not too thick, you can cut out the card and then simply fold it in half afterwards.

Cut out all pieces of the design, cutting right to the edges in all cases, except the pieces which will be used for the 3D decoupage. They are a little more intricate to cut and a tiny white edge can be left on them.

When cutting out the envelope template, ensure you leave the dotted line visible and don’t throw away the other bits of the page yet!

Card pieces cut out

To assemble the card, you will need to attach 3D sticky pads or decoupage glue to the reverse of all the decoupage Patchwork girl pieces. Then take the paper off of the back of the sticky pads and hold in position above the card. Lower into place and stick gently down. Add the head, hands and feet in the same way as the next layer.

Stick the inner greetings label inside the card with ordinary paper glue, position it in the centre both ways and stick the ‘Handmade by’ label to the lower back of the card, about 2cms from the bottom edge.

Refold along the fold line and the card is finished.

To make up the envelope follow this link to our separate Envelope Tutorial.

Use the long thin ‘With lots of love’ label to seal the flap when the envelope is made and the card is inside.

Envelope for the card

The cut out gift tag just needs to be folded in half. To attach it to the present, use a little double sided sticky tape or punch a hole in the top corner near the fold and thread through 20cms of silver metallic thread and tie a knot 7cms from the hole.
